1-As a whole composition, it suggests the features of a pilgrim walking with cape and
stick
2-The left-hand element (lighter green color),including the yellowish flame, suggests the
contour of an antique oil lamp. It is known that the very first miracle attributed to Saint
Charbel was that his lamp, filled with water instead of oil by a worker at the monastery
who wanted to set up an innocent prank for the saint, continued to burn overnight.
3-The right-hand element (darker green color), suggests the hidden face of the saint under his monk's
hood
4-The overall composition also suggests a mountain (right-hand element), a valley (left-hand element),
and
a pilgrimage path
(the line separating mountain and valley) towards the sun of God, the divine light (yellowish flame).
